About Us:
Sow A Seed Community Foundation is dedicated to empowering and supporting at-risk youth through various programs and services. Our Horizons of Hope Mentoring Program aims to foster positive relationships and provide guidance to youth ages 8 to 21, helping them achieve their full potential.
Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Volunteer Mentors to join our Horizons of Hope Mentoring Program. Mentors will play a crucial role in the lives of our youth, providing guidance, support, and encouragement. This position requires a commitment to the safety, growth, and well-being of the mentees.
Responsibilities:

Build a positive, respectful, and trusting relationship with mentees.

Engage in group mentoring sessions with a ratio of 2 mentors for every 8 youths.

Participate in activities and discussions that promote personal, social, and academic development.

Serve as a positive role model and provide guidance and support.

Adhere to all program guidelines and safety protocols.

Maintain regular communication with program staff and report any concerns or incidents.

Complete and submit required documentation and attendance logs.
Qualifications:

Minimum age of 16.

Passionate about working with youth and making a positive impact in their lives.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Reliable, patient, and empathetic.

Ability to commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week in addition to completing 40 hours of initial training.
Requirements:

Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.

FBI clearance, paid by the volunteer prospect.

Attendance and participation in 40 hours of mentor training.

Commitment to the program for a minimum duration of one year.

Ability to adhere to program policies, including maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
